| Equine Studies Institute was founded in 1992 by Deb Bennett, Ph.D. as a "free University" for the advancement of horsemanship knowledge and practice. The Institute's motto is "fostering higher education in horsemanship."
We offer a wide variety of clinics and seminars on horse-related topics. Faculty and associates are highly-qualified professionals whose knowledge and depth of experience permit them to be of real assistance to horses and their owners. The Institute sponsors seminars, classes, and horsemanship clinics covering a broad range of topics:

Conversations With Horses The topics listed here are mostly concerned with the physical being of the horse. A very important area to us is the internal life - what is going on inside the horse, what motivates him, what makes him "tick". We offer opportunities for you to learn to speak and understand the horse's own language, and we can connect you with what we believe to be the best educational experiences in this area. |

Institute Publications Twice every year, we publish an issue of our newsletter, "The Inner Horseman". Each issue contains over 100 pages of advertising-free information on CD-Rom. The focus of the newsletter is the inner life of the horse and the horseperson, but news, book reviews, and detailed studies of anatomy and biomechanics are also featured. Click here for more information on how to receive "The Inner Horseman". The Institute also publishes Dr. Deb Bennett's "The Birdie Book" on CD-Rom. Despite the title, the book is really about horses, and what makes them tick. As Dr. Deb says, "The horse's mind and emotions run his muscles. Therefore, if you don't understand what is motivating your horse - his desires, his ideas, his feelings - then you don't have control of your horse." Reviewers have stated: "Birdie Theory is probably the most accessible and innovative approach to horse training that's come along in our time. It's a great way for owners to look at the so-called problem horse and really be able to solve the problems. This one's already an underground classic." Please click here for more information on "The Birdie Book". Over the course of a 25-year career in the horse industry, Dr. Deb has published hundreds of books and articles on horsemanship, and the list keeps growing each year. About Advertising The Friends and Director of Equine Studies Institute share a philosophy of advertisement and product creation. The essential elements of this approach are:
For these reasons, we are a "dot org" rather than a "dot com", and the logo of the Institute neither contains nor reflects any one person's name. We have established these standards in the hope and belief that they help to foster trust and communication between ourselves and you, our Website visitors and Associate Members. Please make yourself "at home" in the environment provided here, and if there is any further way in which we can assist you, please e-mail us. Thank you for your interest in our work. And happy riding to you! |
